Mentoring Alliance exists to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope. Our staff and volunteers must have the desire to influence, impact, and serve the kids and families in our community. Why? Because each and every staff and volunteer position at Mentoring Alliance is an integral part of our mission and vision. We consider all positions, both staff, and volunteer, at Mentoring Alliance to be first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel.
Overview
The MASC Junior Counselor program is for 15 and 16 year-old students who are interested in learning what it looks like to serve locally while potentially preparing to become counselors. It enables high school students to be involved in the community in a camp setting. It gives students the opportunity to tangibly serve and lead in the community while learning and growing in who they are in Christ and as future leaders while being paid. This program also provides an opportunity for students to complete community service hours for school as well as a great experience for students to include in their college resumes and applications.
Our hope is that high school students will be able to step out of the classroom and their church youth groups to act on the things that they've learned in a service-oriented capacity.
Core Principles
1. Learning - The Junior Counselor program is foremost a position where Junior
Counselors learn what it takes to be a Counselor.
2. Support -The Junior counselor role is there as a support for the Counselor. Each Junior
